Typically, Disney cruises are considered for families with a focus on kids’ activities, but did you know they also offer experiences exclusively for adults? These areas of the ship are off-limits to children, making them perfect for a romantic escape.

  • Spa treatments: Let Disney’s world-class spa experience at Senses Spa & Salon pamper you and your beau. Enjoy massages, facials, and a couple’s massage as you feel the world melt away.
  • Specialty dance clubs and bars: These are placed in locations where kids aren’t allowed, so you and your sweetie can have a wonderful time dancing, sipping cocktails, and enjoying the ocean views together.
  • Live entertainment: Shows are a huge hit with Disney cruise line ships. Some even offer the opportunity to experience live music, and various Broadway or specialty shows geared more toward adults than just kids.
  • Private rooms: A private cabana or room provides you with amazing views of the ocean and world-class amenities. Exclusively for adults, you and your partner will have a great time enjoying a peaceful day together.

Insider tip: We recommend going on the Disney Fantasy or Disney Dream cruise ships as we found them to have the largest amount of adult-only spaces and activities.

Every Disney cruise line trip offers you a different culinary experience so you can enjoy specialty foods from around the world throughout the cruise. There are even some adults-only restaurants that offer fine dining experiences with a romantic ambiance.

  • Remy: This exclusive, upscale restaurant offers French-inspired cuisine and an extensive wine list. If you are a fan of the movie “Ratatouille,” this is a must-do dining experience.
  • Palo: This restaurant offers Northern Italian cuisine, with breathtaking ocean views from its top-deck location. You can also opt for brunch or high tea for a unique twist on traditional meals.
  • Cove Cafe: This coffee shop and bar offers specialty drinks, wine, and quality bites in a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening drink or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Insider tip: Be sure to make reservations for these restaurants in advance, as they are popular among adult guests. It’s also important to note that some adult-only restaurants aren’t included in the base price and require an additional fee.

Most important tip: The cruise line even has something special for couples on their honeymoons or special occasions. When you book your trip, simply inform them that it is a special occasion for you and your partner, and they will go the extra mile to make your stay memorable.

Whether you are a fan of Disney or one of those so-called “Disney Adults,” taking a Disney cruise without kids lets you and your better half experience the magic from your childhood in a whole new way. From character meet and greets to themed events, there’s no shortage of Disney magic on board.

  • Character Meet and Greets: Take photos with your favorite Disney characters in their special attire just for the cruise. This is a great way to add some fun and whimsy to your romantic getaway.
  • Themed Nights: Each night, the ship has a different themed event that offers a unique experience for adults. From pirate night to masquerade balls, there’s always something exciting happening on board.
  • Adult-only activities: Disney also offers activities exclusively for adults, such as mixology classes, cooking demonstrations, game shows, and trivia nights. These are great opportunities to bond with your partner and make new friends on the ship.

Insider tip: Download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to stay updated on all the activities and events happening on board. You can also use it to book reservations for restaurants or spa treatments.

A Disney cruise without kids isn’t anything without its port adventures! As you travel to various destinations, you’ll participate in various activities and immerse yourself in different cultures, creating unforgettable memories with your partner.

  • Romantic Beach Getaways: Explore Disney’s Private Island or other beautiful beaches with water activities like snorkeling or scuba diving in exotic locations with your loved one. Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point has an adult-only beach that’s perfect for couples looking for some alone time.
  • Culture and History: Visit historical landmarks, museums, and cultural sites with your significant other. These experiences offer a unique way to learn and see different parts of the world together while creating romantic memories.
  • Relax poolside: If you’re looking for something a little cozier that the two of you can enjoy together, the Quiet Cove Pool is an adults-only pool where you can soak up the sun and enjoy whirlpool spas. Chill out in the lounge chairs on the pool deck, get some drinks, and relax with your sweetheart.

Insider tip: These activities and adventures will all depend on the cruise you’re taking so be sure to look at the itinerary to see what the best fit for you will be. You can book excursions through Disney Cruise Line or explore on your own if you prefer a more independent experience.

What to Pack for a Disney Cruise Without Kids

We’ve all been guilty of overpacking, but trust us – you’ll want to keep it lighter than you think. Here are some things we’ve learned from our past experiences:

  • Carry-on with important items like paperwork, medication, snacks, a camera, and a change of clothes. Your checked luggage won’t arrive until later in the day, so keep anything you might need before then on hand.
  • A battery pack and charging cords for your devices. It’s always handy to have them charged on the go. (Remember to pack them in your carry-on!)
  • If this is your first time cruising, get a lanyard or badge holder — you’ll be given one for free on future cruises.
  • Bring something for the characters to sign, like an autograph book or picture frame. Make sure to have your own Sharpie pens!
  • A reusable insulated beverage cup, like a Tervis or Thermos, will keep your drinks cold and hot throughout the cruise.
  • Sunscreen is a must, of course.
  • Costumes if you want to dress up for Pirate Night or as your favorite Princess.
  • Formal dresswear and shoes if you plan on dining at the adult-only restaurants.

How much money do you need for Disney Cruise?

This really depends on what you’re looking for in terms of your cruise experience. But just to give you a rough idea, you can expect to spend a minimum of $1,000 for two people

What is the cheapest month to take a Disney Cruise?

If you’re looking for the best deal on a Disney cruise, September is the way to go. This is because most schools have started back up, and hurricane season has begun, making it a less popular time to visit the Bahamas and the Caribbean. As a result, prices are generally lower during this month.
